Community Service

One of the most important ways that community service benefits the community is by helping solve a problem or ongoing issue in the community. Nonprofit organizations are founded to fix problems and help causes that are prevalent in their area. Volunteers aide these organizations to help them complete their mission. We are dedicated to helping our students, our university, and community solve serious problems. Our diversity in membership will be instrumental in taking a more detailed approach to attacking these challenges.

Having a strong infrastructure for fundraising means an organization has the internal capacity it needs to develop philanthropic resources. As in any other organizational activity, you need the right tools and people who have mastered those tools in order to do the work of fundraising.  A strong infrastructure for development operations, policies and procedures – including functions as basic as gift acknowledgment and prospect assignments – is vital for stewarding constituents who expect a certain level of treatment from a nonprofit organization they have invested in.

Our new platform unifies fundraising, transaction and donor management tools under one roof, then seamlessly integrates those tools with other data sources, like events, accounting or email marketing systems.” Our fundraising automation platform is designed to help nonprofit managers and fundraisers operate more efficiently by providing a single, cloud-based resource for donor acquisition, donor-relationship management, and real-time analytics, including insights, from popular, third-party software partners.

Mentorship / Leadership Training

Many recent graduates are looking to their friends and peers for advice. While this is a good perspective to have, the power of a mentor who can provide a different perspective, relate different leadership experiences, and ask a different set of questions is critically important. Part of this “we know better” thinking may come from the expectation that new will disrupt old, simply based on its ‘awesomeness’. The danger is that people can far too easily filter out views and opinions different than their own simply by changing the channel or subscribing to a different Twitter feed.  Our organization represents over 5 decades of experiences that can be shared.

Mentoring, at its core, guarantees young people that there is someone who cares about them, assures them they are not alone in dealing with day-to-day challenges, and makes them feel like they matter. Research confirms that quality mentoring relationships have powerful positive effects on young people in a variety of personal, academic, and professional situations. Ultimately, mentoring connects a young person to personal growth and development, and social and economic opportunity. Yet one in three young people will grow up without this critical asset.

The Reclamation Committee oversees GEAA efforts of reclaiming brothers back into the Bond of Fraternity.  We are excited about what our future holds as an organization and partnering with Kappa Alpha Psi on their global initiatives.  An organization is only as good as its members, so we are actively reaching out to reconnect with our brothers and recruit like-minded individuals with the intent of organization-wide sustainability.

We are not interested in the simple accumulation of members, but those that share the love of Tuskegee and Kappa.  Our emphasis is in the quality and integrity of our membership.  Membership qualities manifests itself through an intangible element of brotherhood we call “That Good Old Kappa Spirit.”

Data Analytics

Knowing your donors – who they are, why they give to you, and how they like to be communicated with – is so important. With the technology available to us, there’s really no reason why we shouldn’t be reaching a broader donor base. We can actually engage with our donors in a way that is meaningful, powerful, and inspires them to give again.  Work with us to uncover the data that has always been there but never discovered.  We believe if you go where our donors are they will respond in a positive way if given the opportunity.  We are not convinced that the apathy of alumni donors are real. Data analytics is one more tool that will be used to change that narrative.
